Foreign-Born Player Registration (ITC Request)

As of July 2021, U.S. Soccer in accordance with FIFA is requiring all players not born in the United States (regardless of club status or competition level) to request an International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Per FIFA’s Regulations, the international clearance process is required when any foreign-born player attempting to register with an affiliated club/team/league in the United States, regardless of that player’s soccer ability or citizenship and one or both below instances apply:

  • Player was born outside of the United States, including U.S. citizens born abroad.
  • Player previously registered with a club/team/league outside of the United States.

For a detailed overview of when a clearance is required, the clearance process, all application forms, AND How to Submit, please visit the U.S. Soccer website – INTERNATIONAL CLEARANCE OVERVIEW section. When submitting information/forms to US Soccer, please include Laura@dysa.org.
