SEBASTIAN ACOSTA-NIJAMKIN
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Sebastian joins us with experience working in all aspects of youth soccer. He worked at Delaware Union as the Director of Operations and Director of Coaching until the end of 2022. In 2023 he moved to Sporting Delaware and worked as a programs director. He became our Social Media Director in late 2023.
Sebastian has experience in the high school game as a current head coach at Odessa High School Boys and Girls Soccer Teams. He currently works with the ODP Program as the head coach of the 2011 and 2010 girls teams respectively.
LAURA STURDIVANT, MEMBER SERVICES SPECIALIST | Laura started her soccer career over 30 years ago as a soccer mom when her two boys began to play. She joined the board as the secretary and has held various positions on the board for 27 years, including being the first female president of DYSA. She previously worked at Kirkwood Soccer Club as the Executive Assistant for 15 years, before becoming the Executive Director of DYSA in April 2016. Laura is semi retired and remains a part-time employee for DYSA. In her spare time, she enjoys her grandchildren, spending time with her family and cruising. | ||
TERRY REED, COMMUNITY OUTREACH DIRECTOR | Terry joined Delaware Youth Soccer Association in April, 2018. Terry’s background includes more than 15 years in Human Resources, Community Outreach and Engagement, Special Events, Grant writing, Marketing and Communications. In her spare time she enjoys reading, crocheting, and being at her grandchildren’s events which include: soccer, gymnastics, and swimming. | ||
TYLER BASTIANELLI, DIRECTOR OF TALENT IDENTIFICATION AND ODP | Tyler is a former player for Kirkwood Soccer Club and Hockessin Soccer Club (now known as DEFC-Hockessin). He holds a USSF National “C” license. Tyler is a former USSF National Training Center Staff member and is the current Sporting Delaware Director of Player Development. He is the Head coach of the DEFC ’00, ’04 and ’07 boys’ teams and is a Philadelphia Union Academy Scout. Formerly, he coached for DE Rush and the Philadelphia Union Juniors. | ||
IMRAN KHAN, DIRECTOR OF DELAWARE GIRLS SOCCER INITIATIVE | Imran is a former Goldey-Beacom College player. He has worked in the soccer environment for over 18 years. He has coached on many different levels of the game on both men’s and women game at Kirkwood, Goldey-Beacom and the PDL level. |
CHAD REED, PRESIDENT | Chad is the 9th President in the 40+ year history of DYSA and follows in his dad’s footsteps. Chatty Reed was the second President of DYSA. Chad is a former DE ODP player and West Chester University player. He holds a USSF “A” License, US Soccer Coaches Advanced Diploma and KNVB Youth Badge. He is a Project Manager for Teal Construction, Inc. and the Technical Director for DE Union. | |
SCOTT MOSIER VICE PRESIDENT | Scott is a former Delaware ODP Player, UNC Charlotte and Delaware Wizard player. He holds a USSF “A” License and a Brazilian (BRUSA) B License. Scott currently is the Head Coach for Salesianum School and Sporting Director of Delaware FC and the Delaware Ospreys. Scott holds a masters degree in Educational Counseling, teaches Sports Psychology at Salesianum School and resides in northern DE. | |
TREASURER, SHELLEY DOUGHERTY | Shelley’s soccer journey began 10 years ago, when her daughter began playing recreational soccer at MOT. She eventually moved on the travel leagues, playing in the ECNL league. In 2018, Shelley became the Executive Director of Coastal Atlantic FC and became involved with DYSA. She also works for her family business, handling accounting and human resource functions. These experiences combined, have prepared her well to become the Treasurer of DYSA. In her spare time, she enjoys boating and travelling. | |
BRENT FELDMAN, DIRECTOR OF RECREATION | Brent has been involved in soccer most of his life. He is a former player for Concord Soccer Association, Wilmington Friends School, Berea College and still plays today for New Castle County Adult League. He has been coaching for the recreational program for Concord Soccer for 16 years. Brent joined DYSA as the Recreational Director in 2017 and has been running our rec programs and Inter Club League ever since. Brent volunteers for the love of the sport, no matter the skill level of the players! | |
JOHN WEAVER, DIRECTOR OF TOPSOCCER | John has coached soccer for over 30 years, holding a USSF National C License and a USSF National Youth License. He has coached TOPSoccer since 2002, holding a USYS TOPSoccer Coaching Certificate and a Certificate for Coaching Disabled Footballers from the English FA. John understands that a community is made better by the volunteer work of its citizens. He has volunteered for DYSA, Concord Soccer, Delaware FC, MOT Soccer, Delmarva Red Cross, Seller’s Senior Center, Church of the Holy Child, New Beginnings Next Step and is a regular blood donor. John is a graduate of Lafayette College where he met his wife of 40 years, Cathy. He is a practicing lawyer in Delaware having graduated from Rutgers Law School. John understands that a community is made better by the volunteer work of its citizens. | |
STEPHANIE PARKER, COMMISSIONER | ||
MEGAN O’DONNELL, PAST PRESIDENT | Megan has served on the DYSA Board for over 8 years and is the current DYSA’s Past President. She was DYSA President from 2017-2019 During her time as President, Megan was named the East Region Administrator of the Year in 2019. Megan has also held positions as the Secretary, TOPSoccer Director, and Vice President. Megan holds a USSF “E” License. She has been a head coach at Kirkwood Soccer, A.I.DuPont High School and Assistant Coach at Saint Mark’s High School. While Head Varsity Coach at A.I.DuPont High School, Megan became the first female head coach to win a state championship for girls soccer in 2011. Megan began playing soccer at the age of 4. She played for travel soccer for Kirkwood Tigers and participated in DYSA’s ODP program. Megan attended Saint Mark’s High School where she played Varsity Soccer for 4 years. She was the lead captain on the 2000 State Championship Team. After playing High School Soccer, Megan went onto play at Goldey-Beacom College. She was the first female player to sign with Goldey-Beacom during their inaugural season in 2000. | |
