DYSA INTERCLUB RECREATIONAL LEAGUE
The DYSA Interclub recreational league was formed to provide teams/clubs, ages U12 and older the opportunity to play against teams of similar abilities. Teams must be registered through a DYSA affiliated club.
There is no fee for a recreational team to participate in the league. The DYSA Director of Recreation operates the league each fall and spring. The Director of Recreation will create the schedule and forward to each club. Each club assigns a game time, field and the referees. Clubs are responsible for the referee fees for each game. Teams will be assigned home and away games.

Recreational Soccer
One of the most often used terms is one of the least defined. Soccer has created a new meaning for the word recreation and the word recreational. US Youth Soccer does offer a partial definition in its “Policy on Players and Playing Rules ” in the definitions section when it states:” recreational league” means an intraclub league in which-
- the use of tryouts, invitations, recruiting, or any similar process to roster players to any team on the basis of talent or ability is prohibited;
- (the club administering the league accepts as participants in the league any eligible youths (subject to reasonable terms on registration)
- a system or rostering players is used to establish a fair or balanced distribution of playing talent among all teams participating; and
- league rules require that each player must play at least one-half of each game except for reasons of injury, illness, or discipline
The DYSA Interclub league was formed to give players U12, U14, U16 and Senior divisions the opportunity to play in an instructional league setting against the other clubs in Delaware. Games are scheduled by DYSA and are played at local clubs on Saturdays in the Spring and Fall.
