Your support helps children become successful in developing their soccer skills but more importantly, helping them learn teamwork, hard work, and sportsmanship. Also, it allows us to improve our soccer programs and facilities, provide scholarships for worthy players and offset the cost of participation.
Some of the benefits of sponsorship for businesses are exposure to a broad customer base, company and product exposure, and showing community support. As a sponsor your logo will be included on our website.
MICKEY WHERRY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM/TOURNAMENT
Mickey Wherry was a dedicated individual that stepped up and volunteered to organize the Interclub Soccer League for DYSA. As an avid soccer fan, Mickey enjoyed watching, coaching, referring and being a part of an organization that would impact so many players today. Mr. Wherry also served as the Recreational Director for Kirkwood Soccer and sat on the committee for the Region I President's Cup.
Mickey lost his battle with amyloidosis in October, 2016. To keep Mr. Wherry's legacy live on, Delaware Youth Soccer Association hosts a 3 v 3 tournament annually. Proceeds from this tournament go towards a scholarship in Mickey's memory. This scholarship is awarded to an individual that exemplifies the qualities that Mr. Wherry stood for "Fair Play.
Delaware Youth Soccer Association will award two college scholarships worth $500.00 per year to high school seniors within the state association. Your donation to this program is helping an athlete continue their soccer career and allowing Mickey’s legacy to continue!
$100 to $500 – Company logo listed on DYSA website under Mickey Wherry Scholarship Program, back of t-shirt and listed on TV’s during the event.
PLAYER SCHOLARSHIP – ANY AMOUNT
Gifts to our Scholarship Program is applied directly to assist less fortunate players who are not able to afford to play organized competitive soccer. 100% of your donation offsets fees for a player less fortunate.
