US Youth Soccer presents its awards at the Award Gala, held during the US Youth Soccer Workshop at the NSCAA Convention.

DYSA selects the winner for each category to represent Delaware for the Annual Region I awards. Region I will then choose a recipient for each of the awards and the winners will be elected as candidates for the US Youth Soccer award. 

Below are the nomination forms for the 2016 Awards.  Please note that there are four categories for Coach of the Year - Girls Competitive, Boys Competitive, Girls Recreational and Boys Recreational. Please use the Coach of the Year Form for each.  

All nominations must be received by mail or email no later than Friday, September 9th.  Forms can be emailed to Executivedirector@dysa.org or mailed to:

The DYSA Executive Board will then review each nomination and select a winner from each category to represent Delaware.

Administrator of The Year
The Administrator of the Year Award honors the extraordinary accomplishments in administration over a career. The national Administrator of the Year is announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, as a part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop

Volunteer of The Year
The Volunteer of the Year award honors those who are excellent role models for their community. Willingness to promote players and soccer, sound moral and ethical character and increasing the opportunities to participate in soccer are all characteristics of nominees for the Volunteer of the Year award. The national Volunteer of the Year is announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, as a part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop.

TOPSoccer Buddy of The Year
Established in 2009, the US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer Buddy of the Year award is awarded for extraordinary accomplishments as a TOPSoccer Buddy. The nominees demonstrate patience, understanding, dependability, flexibility and ability to adjust to ever-changing on-field situations. The Buddy of the Year is also an invaluable volunteer who facilitates the program by filling many roles, including being a coach, cheerleader and role model as well as assisting when needed with administrative responsibilities. Other important qualities of the buddy are engaging players one-on-one, modeling desired behavior and being cognizant of player safety. Buddies assist, guide, direct and teach the game of soccer and its skills while creating a fun learning experience. The national TOPSoccer Buddy of the Year award is announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, as a part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop.

Competitive Coach of The Year
The Competitive Coach of the Year is awarded to a competitive coach for both a boy's team and a girl's team for his or her coaching activities, sportsmanship, player development, personal coaching development and citizenship. The national Boys and Girls Competitive Coaches of the Year is announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, as a part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop.

Recreational Coach of The Year
The US Youth Soccer Recreational Coach of the Year is awarded to a recreation coach for both a boy's team and a girl's team for his or her coaching activities, sportsmanship, player development, personal coaching development and citizenship.  The national Boys and Girls Recreation Coach of the Year is announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, as a part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop.

Young Referee of The Year
The annual Young Referee of the Year award honors those who have a strong work ethic, knowledge of the rules of the game and are positive role models. Through the Young Referee of the Year program, US Youth Soccer helps foster the development of referees for the future of soccer in the United States. Many of the leagues around the country would not be able to cover all of their games but not for the involvement of youth referees. The national Male and Female Young Referees of the Year is announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, as a part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop.

TopSoccer Coach of the Year

The TOPSoccer Coach of the Year is awarded to an individual for extraordinary accomplishments as a TOPSoccer Coach. The individual carries out the US Youth Soccer TopSoccer program and its events and activities.  He or she has demonstrated patience, understanding, dependability, flexibility and ability to adjust to ever changing on-field situations. Has proven to be an invaluable volunteer who facilitates the Program by filling many roles, including being a coach, a cheerleader, a role model, and administrator.  Has provided leadership and support.    Is cognizant of player safety while, guiding, directing, teaching the game of soccer and its skills, and creating a fun and learning experience. Is at least 19 years old.
